Which AI receptionist should your care practice choose?
It depends on what your practice needs most. These are our picks, need by need. We make Tilcao, an AI receptionist for medical practices set up on request beyond dental, so do not take our word for the first one: call the demo line and hear it.
- Calls and WhatsApp answered in Dutch, French and English, the appointment booked, moved or cancelled during the conversation, and the unusual call handed to a named person: Tilcao, set up on request from your software. Demo line +32 460 23 23 00.
- A practice already booking online with Doctena: the Doctena virtual assistant, which books into the same Doctena Pro diary.
- A GP practice in Flanders that wants a published price per practice: HuisartsAssist, which books into Doctena, from €69 a month plus €1.30 per appointment.
- A GP practice that wants one ticket per call in a work list rather than bookings: HalloDok, from €150 a month for up to 500 calls.
- A price per practitioner and an Outlook or Google diary, in French: Caryvox, €39 a month per practitioner plus €0.65 a call.
- A human secretary ready to take over: Marie A by CCM-Online, or AlexIA by Spit’Up in its hybrid form, two Belgian telesecretariats.
- A supplier that names Belgian GP software on its own pages: Elevedia, priced on quote.
- A physiotherapy practice that wants the prescription asked for at the first booking: Standia, from €79 a month with 300 minutes.
- French and Dutch, priced per user, with a Progenda diary: Woovox, €29 per user a month plus €0.30 a minute.
- Patients who reach you on many channels, from WhatsApp to Instagram: AskHannah, from €399 a month.
Which AI receptionists are there for medical practices in Belgium?
These are the products we found that offer themselves to Belgian care practices, each described in its own words. "Not stated" means we did not find it on the supplier’s website, not that the feature is missing. A supplier who sees a wrong cell can write to us and we will correct it.

Does the AI book the patient, or take a message?
This is the first difference, and it decides what work is left for your team. An AI that books during the call settles the request. An AI that notes it and passes it on leaves you a callback to make, with a better summary than a voicemail.
Aillo, AskHannah, Caryvox, Marie A by CCM-Online, Doctena, Elevedia, Heyloha, HuisartsAssist, AlexIA by Spit’Up, Standia, Tilcao, Virtual Receptionist, Voicelabs and Woovox say they book themselves, Compañero from its Groei plan and Qureno from its Business plan. Doctena writes into its Doctena Pro diary, CCM-Online into its own, HuisartsAssist into Doctena and Standia into Google Calendar. HalloDok leaves one ticket per call and books only simple appointment types agreed with the practice. Nooitgemist books, and has the practice confirm a new patient.
Does it speak Dutch and French?
In Brussels and along the language border, a practice gets calls in both languages, sometimes in the same call. Aillo, AskHannah, Compañero, Doctena, Elevedia, Heyloha, HuisartsAssist, AlexIA by Spit’Up, Tilcao and Woovox state both. HalloDok and Nooitgemist start in Dutch, Nooitgemist with French on its Pro plan; Standia starts in French, with Dutch on its Pro plan; Qureno includes both from a given plan; Voicelabs sets the languages per practice. Caryvox, Marie A by CCM-Online and Virtual Receptionist do not name Dutch. Ask to hear a call in each of your patients’ languages, including a patient who switches mid-call.
Does it write the appointment into your medical software?
Only a few suppliers name Belgian medical software at all. Elevedia names Medispring, HealthOne, Pricare, Daktari and Epicure. Caryvox reaches Medispring, Pricare, MediPlanet and Hellodoc through an Outlook sync. HuisartsAssist books into Doctena both ways and names Progenda, CareConnect, Mediris and others, connected in agreement with your supplier. Doctena syncs its own diary with Belgian packages such as HealthOne, OmniPro and Corilus. The others name general calendars such as Outlook, Google Calendar or Progenda, or a diary of their own.
An AI that writes into a second calendar leaves you retyping, or risking a double booking. Ask each supplier to show the appointment arriving in your own software, on your own installation, before you sign. Tilcao works that way: where your software vendor agrees, the connection is set up and tested on your installation before go-live, and otherwise your team gets a ready request. How an AI books into a diary is explained in how an AI books into your practice diary.
Does it tell the caller it is an AI?
It has to. Since 2 August 2026 the European AI Act requires an AI that talks to people to say so, unless it is obvious. For a patient that matters even more, and it is what a supplier should be able to show you in its greeting.
AskHannah, Heyloha, Nooitgemist, Qureno, Tilcao and Woovox state on their sites that the AI introduces itself as one. Caryvox states it in its privacy policy, Compañero in its terms, Elevedia in its sample greeting and Standia on its physiotherapy page. The other eight do not state it on the pages we read. Ask to hear the first sentence a patient hears.
What does an AI receptionist cost a medical practice?
Fourteen suppliers publish a price. Excluding VAT: Woovox from €29 per user a month plus €0.30 a minute, Caryvox €39 per practitioner plus €0.65 a call, Aillo €49 to €499 a month by number of calls, Nooitgemist from €59, HuisartsAssist from €69 plus €1.30 per appointment, Standia from €79 with 300 minutes, Voicelabs from €119 billed yearly, Compañero from €125, HalloDok from €150 and Heyloha and Qureno from €149, AskHannah from €399. Doctena asks €89 a month on top of a Doctena Pro plan, without stating VAT, and Virtual Receptionist’s pages give several prices. CCM-Online, Elevedia, Spit’Up and Tilcao price per practice.
Compare at the same volume, using your own call numbers, and add the setup fee and the price per call or minute where there is one. A GP may get half of a telesecretariat’s cost back through Impulseo; whether an AI service counts is for the agency to say, so ask it in writing first. The rules per region are on Impulseo and the telesecretariat, and what a human telesecretariat costs is on medical telesecretariat in Belgium.
What about Ineke, Robinhoodie or AInora?
These names come up when you ask a search engine. Ineke is a Dutch AI assistant for GP practices; its website names no Belgian offer, so it is not in the table. We found no product called Robinhoodie. AInora, a Lithuanian agency, has a page for Belgium but publishes no price and names no Belgian practice software. The AI receptionists sold to dentists are compared on the dental comparison.
Why is Tilcao our pick?
Tilcao answers the phone and WhatsApp in Dutch, French and English, switches language with the patient, books, moves or cancels the appointment and hands the unusual call to a named person. It never triages: for a call that may be urgent it reads out your own rule. It says it is an AI, and every conversation leaves a summary and a record for the team. You can call it now on the demo line, +32 460 23 23 00, or listen to a full recorded call.
It runs in dental practices today. For a GP practice, a physiotherapy practice, a psychologist or a medical house we set it up on request, starting from your software and your rule for urgent calls, and the price is set per practice.
How do you choose an AI receptionist for a care practice?
Put the same questions to every supplier, us included, and have the answers written into the contract. The full ten are in ten questions to ask before choosing phone cover.
- Does it book during the call, or leave a message for a callback?
- Does it write into your own medical software, or into a second calendar?
- Does it speak your patients’ languages, including a switch mid-call?
- What does it do with a call that may be urgent, and who wrote that rule?
- Does it tell the patient they are talking to an AI?
- Does the processing agreement name every subprocessor, and where is the data processed, under professional secrecy?
Questions practices ask
What is the best AI receptionist for a GP practice in Belgium?
It depends on what the practice needs most. For calls and WhatsApp answered in Dutch, French and English with the appointment booked during the conversation, our pick is Tilcao, our own product, set up on request for GP practices and testable on the demo line, +32 460 23 23 00. Already on Doctena, its virtual assistant or HuisartsAssist. For one ticket per call rather than bookings, HalloDok.
Is there an AI receptionist for physiotherapists in Belgium?
Yes. Caryvox, Compañero, HalloDok, Qureno, Standia and Woovox have pages for physiotherapy practices, and Tilcao is set up for physiotherapy practices on request. Standia says it asks for the prescription at the first booking.
Does Impulseo pay for an AI receptionist?
No official text says so. Impulseo refunds a GP half of a telesecretariat’s cost, up to a ceiling per region, and the agencies do not say whether an AI service counts. Ask AViQ, Vivalis or PMV in writing before you count on it.
