AI receptionists for dental practices in Belgium: the options compared

Several suppliers sell Belgian dental practices an AI for the front desk. Four questions separate them more than the voice does: does the AI book the patient itself or take a message, does it speak Dutch, does it write the appointment into your own software, and is the price published. The table gives what each supplier writes on its own website, read on 7 October 2026, with no ranking. Tilcao is one of them and goes through the same columns.

Which AI receptionists are there for dentists in Belgium?

These are the products we found, each described in its own words. "Not stated" means we did not find it on the supplier’s website, not that the feature is missing. A supplier who sees a wrong cell can write to us and we will correct it.

What each supplier publishes on its website, read on 7 October 2026. Alphabetical, not a ranking.

Does the AI book the patient, or take a message?

This is the first difference, and it decides what work is left for your team. An AI that books during the call settles the request. An AI that notes the request and passes it on leaves you a callback to make, with a better summary than a voicemail.

Aillo, Caryvox, Marie A by CCM-Online, Doctena, Tilcao and VoiceSmile say they book themselves. Doctena writes into its Doctena Pro diary, CCM-Online into its own, and VoiceSmile into its own too, beside your software. Strateg-IA does it at its fullest tier, after a test on your software. DentAI starts from emails and diary gaps, with a phone module switched on last. DentistryGPT works in writing, and its phone agent is announced.

Does it speak Dutch?

In Brussels and along the language border, a practice gets calls in both languages. Aillo, Doctena, Strateg-IA, Tilcao and VoiceSmile state Dutch. DentAI publishes a Dutch demo call without naming the product’s languages. Caryvox, DentistryGPT and Marie A by CCM-Online do not mention it. Ask to hear a call in each of your patients’ languages, including a patient who switches language mid-call.

Does it write the appointment into your dental software?

No Belgian dental practice package publishes an open, documented API, so every connection is negotiated package by package. The approved dental software in Belgium and what a connection takes are on a page of their own.

In the table DentAI is the only one DentAdmin presents on its own pages. Doctena connects its Doctena Pro diary to Belgian packages including DentAdmin and Corilus, and its assistant books into that diary. The others name general calendars such as Outlook, Google Calendar or Doctolib, or a diary of their own. An AI that writes into a second calendar leaves you retyping, or risking a double booking. The question to ask is set out in how an AI books into your practice diary.

What does an AI receptionist cost a dental practice?

Five suppliers publish a price. Excluding VAT: Aillo €49 to €499 a month by number of calls, Caryvox €39 per practitioner a month plus €0.65 a call, DentistryGPT €99 to €349 a month, VoiceSmile €89 to €249 a month, with the voice in the €159 plan. Doctena asks €89 a month on top of a Doctena Pro plan, without stating VAT. CCM-Online, DentAI, Strateg-IA and Tilcao price per practice.

Compare at the same volume, using your own call numbers, and add the setup fee and the price per call where there is one. What a human answering service costs, from published rates, is worked out on dental phone answering in Belgium. Why Tilcao shows no price yet is on pricing.

What about DentalCall IA, Recept AI or Solva?

These names come up often when you ask a search engine. They are French services: their websites mention neither Belgium nor Dutch, and the software they name is mostly French, such as LogosW, Julie or Doctolib. DentalCall IA answers the phone and prepares the appointment for the practice to confirm. Recept AI books, moves and cancels in the software it names. Solva does the same, and exhibited at the Dentex fair in Brussels. OrthoMind is aimed at orthodontics in France and Switzerland and does not book appointments. Before signing with one of them, ask whether it knows your Belgian software and speaks Dutch.

Where does Tilcao sit in this table?

Tilcao answers the phone and WhatsApp in Dutch, French and English, switches language with the patient, books, moves or cancels the appointment and hands pain to a named person. It says it is an AI, and every conversation leaves a summary and a record for the team. You can call it now on the demo line, +32 460 23 23 00, or listen to a full recorded call. The price is set per practice, and the connection to your software is checked on your own setup.

How do you choose an AI receptionist?

Put the same questions to every supplier, us included, and have the answers written into the contract. The full ten are in ten questions to ask before choosing phone cover.

  • Does it book during the call, or leave a message for a callback?
  • Does it speak your patients’ languages, including a switch mid-call?
  • Does it write into your own software, or into a second calendar?
  • What does it do with a patient in pain?
  • Does it tell the patient they are talking to an AI?
  • Does the processing agreement name every subprocessor, and where is the data processed?

Questions practices ask

What is the best AI receptionist for a dental practice in Belgium?

None is best for every practice. The right one books by itself, speaks your patients’ languages, writes into your own software, hands pain to a person and says it is an AI. Put those questions to every supplier and have the answers written into the contract.

Are there Belgian AI receptionists for dentists?

Yes. Aillo, Caryvox, CCM-Online, DentAI, DentistryGPT, Strateg-IA, Tilcao and VoiceSmile are Belgian companies, and Doctena has a subsidiary in Brussels. DentAI, DentistryGPT, Strateg-IA, Tilcao and VoiceSmile are aimed first at dental practices. The others also serve other professions.

Does an AI receptionist replace an answering service?

For routine calls it can book, move or cancel an appointment and answer practical questions, at any hour. A human answering service is still better for the unusual or confused call. Many practices keep a person for those.

Tilcao is the operating system for dental practices in Belgium: its AI receptionist answers patient calls and WhatsApp messages in Dutch, French and English, and books, moves and cancels appointments in the practice diary.
